As a follow-up on our Courts & the Coronavirus article please note that both the Federal and State of Connecticut Courts have suspended jury trials. State Court jury trials are suspended for thirty days. Federal court jury trials are suspended to April 10, 2020. Exceptions to these suspensions in State Court only are that jury trials currently in progress and criminal jury trials necessitated by the filing and granting of a speedy trial motion shall continue. The Connecticut Federal Court has further restricted entry to the court of many people who are at high risk of exposure to the coronavirus. The full order of the Federal court can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dTC6EEZ. Many local government functions, including schools and libraries, in local towns have also been shut down due to the pandemic. Stay safe.
