CHANGING A NAME IN A DIVORCE IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING.
If you have used a name for many years & have children from the marriage using your marital last name, reverting to your Maiden Name may be problematic. You have to balance the difficulty of people not being able to find you after using the same name for many years and possible confusion in dealing with people regarding your children. If you do revert to your maiden name you will want to take the same steps you did when getting married to be sure everyone you know and do business with is up to date with your name change. You may want to keep your married name as an alias for your social media to help people find you easier. The ability to do so depends on the social media site.
